Meet Kelly from the United States…
When did you get into transcription?
When my daughter was young, I got into transcription so that I could have the flexibility of staying home if I wanted to. I’ve now transcribed over 10,000 hours of audio and video!
What does your typical work environment look like?
My ideal physical space to work in is actually my office. My desk isn’t facing the window and the lighting is great. The room is on the very far end of my house away from everyone and everything. I also have a POTS line and regular DSL internet – everything I could need.
What else do you like to do when you’re not transcribing?
I love to spend time with my family, of course, but I’m also always interested and intrigued by anything to do with the medical profession — so, reading is a great pastime, as well!
What’s your favorite tip to get the job done?
Wear binaural headphones with no distractions, as opposed to your every day type of headphones or simple earbuds.
