We’re kicking off a brand new series to shine a light on some of the best, most active transcriptionists in the TranscribeMe community! These are some of the amazing, hard-working, detail-oriented people from all around the world that make our transcription process the best in the business.
When did you get into transcription?
I started transcribing back in 2009 after the birth of my son. When I had my first child, leaving my six-week-old in daycare was almost unbearable, so when I had my second child, I started looking for work that I could do from home. I had some experience with transcription from working in a doctor’s office, so it seemed like a good fit. I’ve been transcribing from home ever since!
I’ve transcribed over 10,000 audio and video files for TranscribeMe since I started a few years ago, specializing in industries ranging from Medical, Legal and Educational, to Entertainment and Corporate organizations.
What does your typical work environment look like, and what else do you like to do?
I work from my desk, which is located in my kitchen. It’s a great central area in my house where I can work while multi-tasking my other daily activities. When I’m not transcribing, I like to do anything outdoors and away from my electronic devices.
What is your favorite part about being a part of TranscribeMe?
The flexibility to take on as much work as I’d like has been my favorite part of being a transcriptionist. I also love the fact that it has allowed me to spend more time with my children, as well as enable me to homeschool them.
